Contact Lenses Care: Is It That Important?

Contact lenses care presupposes a number of steps in lenses care, mode of contact lenses wear, and repeated visits to doctor. The reality of modern life is such that most people do not want to admit the importance of proper contact lenses care, as a result, they do not treat it with due attention.

Patients fail to keep to the rules of contact lenses wear due to different reasons:

• They cannot remember all the recommendations; sometimes, doctors forget to give proper instructions;
• Insufficient motivation to keep the rules of contact lenses care: patients consider contact lenses care difficult and time consuming;
• Patients try to save their money: they start to wear cheaper contact lenses (without doctor’s approval), use insufficient solution at cleaning and disinfection, omit some steps in contact lenses care, overwear contact lenses;
• Patients follow bad advice of their friends who insist that there is no need to observe the rules of contact lenses care.
